Luke 8:24-27
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 8
24
They came up to
Jesus
and woke Him, saying, 'Master, Master, we are perishing!' And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm.
25
And He said to them, 'Where is your faith?' But they were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, 'Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?'
26
Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27
And when He stepped out onto the land, a man from the city met Him who was possessed with demons; and he had not put on clothing for a long time and was not living in a house, but among the tombs.
King James Version
Chapter 8
24
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25
And he said unto them, Where is your faith And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
26
And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
27
And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 8
24
They came and woke him up, saying, "Master, Master, we’re going to die!" Then he got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm.
25
He said to them, "Where is your faith?" They were fearful and amazed, asking one another, "Who then is this? He commands even the winds and the waves, and they obey him!"
26
Then they sailed to the region of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27
When he got out on land, a demon-possessed man from the town met him. For a long time he had worn no clothes and did not stay in a house but in the tombs.
New Living Translation
Chapter 8
24
The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, 'Master, Master, we’re going to drown!' When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.
25
Then he asked them, 'Where is your faith?' The disciples were terrified and amazed. 'Who is this man?' they asked each other. 'When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!'
26
So they arrived in the region of the Gerasenes, across the lake from Galilee.
27
As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons came out to meet him. For a long time he had been homeless and naked, living in the tombs outside the town.
English Standard Version
