I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.'

When all the people and the tax collectors heard
this,
they acknowledged God’s justice, having been baptized with the baptism of John.

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

And all the people that heard
him
, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John, but the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

(And when all the people, including the tax collectors, heard this, they acknowledged God's way of righteousness, because they had been baptized with John's baptism.

I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is!'

When they heard this, all the people — even the tax collectors — agreed that God’s way was right, for they had been baptized by John.
