Chapter 7
2Now a centurion’s slave, who was highly regarded by him, was sick and about to die. 3When he heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, asking Him to come and save the life of his slave. 4When they came to Jesus, they strongly urged Him, saying, 'He is worthy for You to grant this to him; 5for he loves our nation, and it was he who built us our synagogue.' 6Now Jesus started on His way with them; but already, when He was not yet far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, 'Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to enter under my roof; 7for that reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You; but just say the word, and my servant shall be healed. 8For I also am a man placed under authority, with soldiers under myself; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.' 9Now when Jesus heard this, He was amazed at him, and turned and said to the crowd that was following Him, 'I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.'King James Version
Chapter 7
2And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. 3And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. 4And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: 5For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. 6Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: 7Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. 8For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 9When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
2A centurion’s servant, who was highly valued by him, was sick and about to die. 3When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to him, requesting him to come and save the life of his servant. 4When they reached Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, "He is worthy for you to grant this, 5because he loves our nation and has built us a synagogue."
6Jesus went with them, and when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, "Lord, don’t trouble yourself, since I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.
7That is why I didn’t even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it."

Chapter 7
2At that time the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death. 3When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his slave. 4So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. 'If anyone deserves your help, he does,' they said, 5for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.'
6So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, 'Lord, don’t trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor.
7I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.
8I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.'
