But they kept on insisting, saying, 'He is stirring up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee, as far as this place!'

Now when Pilate heard
this,
he asked whether the man was a Galilean.

And when he learned that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, since he also was in Jerusalem at this time.

And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.

When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.

And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.

But they kept insisting, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where he started even to here."

When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

Finding that he was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem during those days.

Chapter 23

Then they became insistent. 'But he is causing riots by his teaching wherever he goes — all over Judea, from Galilee to Jerusalem!'

Oh, is he a Galilean?' Pilate asked.
7
When they said that he was, Pilate sent him to Herod Antipas, because Galilee was under Herod’s jurisdiction, and Herod happened to be in Jerusalem at the time.

But they were urgent, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee even to this place."

When Pilate heard this, he asked whether the man was a Galilean.
