Luke 23:29-43

Chapter 23
29For behold, days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are those who cannot bear, and the wombs that have not given birth, and the breasts that have not nursed.’ 30Then they will begin TO SAY TO THE MOUNTAINS, ‘FALL ON US,’ AND TO THE HILLS, ‘COVER US.’ 31For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?'
33And when they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.
34[ But Jesus was saying, 'Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.'] And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves.
35And the people stood by, watching. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, 'He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.'
36The soldiers also ridiculed Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine,
37and saying, 'If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!'
38Now there was also an inscription above Him, 'THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.'
39One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, 'Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!'
40But the other responded, and rebuking him, said, 'Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?
41And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our crimes; but this man has done nothing wrong.'
42And he was saying, 'Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!'
43And He said to him, 'Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.'

29For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
32And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.
33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
35And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
36And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

29Look, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the women without children, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’ 31For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?"
32Two others—criminals —were also led away to be executed with him.
33When they arrived at the place called The Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.
34Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing." And they divided his clothes and cast lots.
35The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing: "He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!"
36The soldiers also mocked him. They came offering him sour wine
37and said, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!"
40But the other answered, rebuking him: "Don’t you even fear God, since you are undergoing the same punishment?
41We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong."
42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

29For the days are coming when they will say, ‘Fortunate indeed are the women who are childless, the wombs that have not borne a child and the breasts that have never nursed.’ 30People will beg the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and plead with the hills, ‘Bury us.’ 31For if these things are done when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry? '
32Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with him.
33When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified — one on his right and one on his left.
35The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. 'He saved others,' they said, 'let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.'
36The soldiers mocked him, too, by offering him a drink of sour wine.
37They called out to him, 'If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!'
38A sign was fastened above him with these words: 'This is the King of the Jews.'
