Luke 16:9-13
New American Standard Bible
10The one who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and the one who is unrighteous in a very little thing is also unrighteous in much.
11Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true wealth to you?
12And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?
13No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.'
King James Version
Chapter 16
9And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. 10He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? 13No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 16
9And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of worldly wealth so that when it fails, they may welcome you into eternal dwellings. 10Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and whoever is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much. 11So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will trust you with what is genuine? 12And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give you what is your own? 13No servant can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."New Living Translation
10If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.
11And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?
12And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?
English Standard Version
10“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
11If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?
12And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?
13No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
New International Version
10Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
12And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?
