When He left that place, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to interrogate Him about many

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge
him
vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

When he left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him fiercely and to cross-examine him about many things;

What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.'

As Jesus was leaving, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees became hostile and tried to provoke him with many questions.
