Chapter 11
9So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened. 11Now which one of you fathers will his son ask for a fish, and instead of a fish, he will give him a snake? 12Or he will even ask for an egg, and his father will give him a scorpion? 13So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?'
14And He was casting out a mute demon; when the demon had gone out, the man who was previously unable to speak talked, and the crowds were amazed.
15But some of them said, 'He casts out the demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.'
16Others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.
17But He knew their thoughts and said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls.
18And if Satan also has been divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you claim that I cast out the demons by Beelzebul.
19Yet if by Beelzebul I cast out the demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they will be your judges.
20But if I cast out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
15But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
16And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
17But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
18If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
19And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

14Now he was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed.
15But some of them said, "He drives out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons."
16And others, as a test, were demanding of him a sign from heaven.
17Knowing their thoughts, he told them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and a house divided against itself falls.
18If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say I drive out demons by Beelzebul.
19And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? For this reason they will be your judges.
20If I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Chapter 11
9And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
11You fathers — if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?
12Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not!
13So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.'
14One day Jesus cast out a demon from a man who couldn’t speak, and when the demon was gone, the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed,
15but some of them said, 'No wonder he can cast out demons. He gets his power from Satan, the prince of demons.'
16Others, trying to test Jesus, demanded that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority.
17He knew their thoughts, so he said, 'Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A family splintered by feuding will fall apart.
18You say I am empowered by Satan. But if Satan is divided and fighting against himself, how can his kingdom survive?
19And if I am empowered by Satan, what about your own exorcists? They cast out demons, too, so they will condemn you for what you have said.
20But if I am casting out demons by the power of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.

16Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.

18If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul.
19Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.
20But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

15But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
16Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven.
17But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.
