Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.
39
And she had a sister called Mary, who was also seated at the Lord’s feet, and was listening to His word.
40
But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up
to Him
and said, 'Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do the serving by myself? Then tell her to help me.'
41
But the Lord answered and said to her, 'Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things;

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, 'Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.'

But the Lord said to her, 'My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!
