Luke 10:19-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 10
19
Behold, I have given you authority to walk on snakes and scorpions, and
authority
over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.
20
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.'
21
At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, 'I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from
the
wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for
doing
so was well pleasing in Your sight.
King James Version
Chapter 10
19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 10
19
Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing at all will harm you.
20
However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
21
At that time he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.
New Living Translation
Chapter 10
19
Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
20
But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.'
21
At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, 'O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.
