Chapter 6

22 When Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the LORD, he said, 'Oh, Lord GOD! For I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!' 23 But the LORD said to him, 'Peace to you, do not be afraid; you shall not die.' 24 Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD and named it The LORD is Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
25 Now on the same night the LORD said to him, 'Take your father’s bull and a second bull seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal which belongs to your father, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it;

22 And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face. 23 And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die. 24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:

23 But the Lord said to him, "Peace to you. Don't be afraid, for you will not die." 24 So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. It is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites today.
25 On that very night the Lord said to him, "Take your father's young bull and a second bull seven years old. Then tear down the altar of Baal that belongs to your father and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.

Chapter 6

22 When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he cried out, 'Oh, Sovereign LORD, I'm doomed! I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!'
23 'It is all right,' the LORD replied. 'Do not be afraid. You will not die.' 24 And Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and named it Yahweh-Shalom (which means 'the LORD is peace'). The altar remains in Ophrah in the land of the clan of Abiezer to this day.
25 That night the LORD said to Gideon, 'Take the second bull from your father's herd, the one that is seven years old. Pull down your father's altar to Baal, and cut down the Asherah pole standing beside it.
