Hebrews 6:6-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
6and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. 7For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and produces vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; 8but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.King James Version
Chapter 6
6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 6
6and who have fallen away. This is because, to their own harm, they are recrucifying the Son of God and holding him up to contempt. 7For the ground that drinks the rain that often falls on it and that produces vegetation useful to those for whom it is cultivated receives a blessing from God. 8But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is worthless and about to be cursed, and at the end will be burned.
9Even though we are speaking this way, dearly loved friends, in your case we are confident of things that are better and that pertain to salvation.
10For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints--and by continuing to serve them.
New Living Translation
7When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God’s blessing.
8But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it.
9Dear friends, even though we are talking this way, we really don’t believe it applies to you. We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation.
10For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.
English Standard Version
Chapter 6
6and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. 7For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.New International Version
