Genesis 4:6-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
6
Then the
Lord
said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? And why is your face gloomy?
7
If you do well, will
your face
not be cheerful? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.'
King James Version
Chapter 4
6
And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee
shall be
his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 4
6
Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent?
7
If you do what is right, won't you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it."
New Living Translation
Chapter 4
6
Why are you so angry?' the
Lord
asked Cain. 'Why do you look so dejected?
7
You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.'
English Standard Version
Chapter 4
6
The LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen?
7
If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”
New International Version
Chapter 4
6
Then the LORD said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?
7
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.'
New King James Version
Chapter 4
6
So the
Lord
said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?
7
If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire
