Genesis 42:26-30
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 42
26
So they loaded their donkeys with their grain and departed from there.
27
But when one
of them
opened his sack to give his donkey feed at the overnight campsite, he saw his money; and behold, it was in the opening of his sack!
28
So he said to his brothers, 'My money has been returned, and look, it is right in my sack!' Then their hearts sank, and they
turned
trembling to one another, saying, 'What is this that God has done to us?'
29
When they came to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan, they told him everything that had happened to them, saying,
30
The man, the lord of the land, spoke harshly with us, and took us for spies of the country.
King James Version
Chapter 42
26
And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence.
27
And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth.
28
And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
29
And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying,
30
The man, who is the lord of the land, spake roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 42
26
They loaded the grain on their donkeys and left there.
27
At the place where they lodged for the night, one of them opened his sack to get feed for his donkey, and he saw his silver there at the top of his bag.
28
He said to his brothers, "My silver has been returned! It’s here in my bag." Their hearts sank. Trembling, they turned to one another and said, "What is this that God has done to us?"
29
When they reached their father Jacob in the land of Canaan, they told him all that had happened to them:
30
"The man who is the lord of the country spoke harshly to us and accused us of spying on the country.
