Lord
God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.
6
But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.
King James Version
Chapter 2
5
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the
Lord
God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and
there was
not a man to till the ground.
6
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 2
5
no shrub of the field had yet grown on the land, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the
Lord
God had not made it rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground.
6
But mist would come up from the earth and water all the ground.
New Living Translation
Chapter 2
5
neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the
Lord
God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil.
6
Instead, springs came up from the ground and watered all the land.
English Standard Version
Chapter 2
5
When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up — for the
Lord
God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground,
6
and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground —
New International Version

New King James Version
Chapter 2
