Exodus 13:3-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 13
3
And Moses said to the people, 'Remember this day in which you departed from Egypt, from the house of slavery; for by a powerful hand the
Lord
brought you out from this place. And nothing with yeast shall be eaten.
4
On this day in the month of Abib, you are about to go out
from here.
5
And it shall be when the
Lord
brings you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall perform this rite in this month.
6
For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the
Lord
.
7
Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and nothing with yeast shall be seen among you, nor shall any dough with yeast be seen among you in all your borders.
King James Version
Chapter 13
3
And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the
Lord
brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
4
This day came ye out in the month Abib.
5
And it shall be when the
Lord
shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
6
Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the
Lord
.
7
Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 13
3
Then Moses said to the people, "Remember this day when you came out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery, for the
Lord
brought you out of here by the strength of his hand. Nothing leavened may be eaten.
4
Today, in the month of Abib, you are going out.
5
When the
Lord
brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers that he would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, you must carry out this ceremony in this month.
6
For seven days you must eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there is to be a festival to the
Lord
.
7
Unleavened bread is to be eaten for those seven days. Nothing leavened may be found among you, and no yeast may be found among you in all your territory.
New Living Translation
Chapter 13
3
So Moses said to the people, 'This is a day to remember forever — the day you left Egypt, the place of your slavery. Today the
Lord
has brought you out by the power of his mighty hand. (Remember, eat no food containing yeast.)
4
On this day in early spring, in the month of Abib, you have been set free.
5
You must celebrate this event in this month each year after the
Lord
brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites. (He swore to your ancestors that he would give you this land — a land flowing with milk and honey.)
6
For seven days the bread you eat must be made without yeast. Then on the seventh day, celebrate a feast to the
Lord
.
7
Eat bread without yeast during those seven days. In fact, there must be no yeast bread or any yeast at all found within the borders of your land during this time.
