Chapter 6
1
It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps over the kingdom, to be in charge of the whole kingdom,
2
and over them, three commissioners (of whom Daniel was one), so that these satraps would be accountable to them, and that the king would not suffer loss.

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
2
And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel
was
first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

Chapter 6

Darius decided to appoint 120 satraps over the kingdom, stationed throughout the realm,
2
and over them three administrators, including Daniel. These satraps would be accountable to them so that the king would not be defrauded.
New Living Translation
Chapter 6
1
Darius the Mede decided to divide the kingdom into 120 provinces, and he appointed a high officer to rule over each province.
2
The king also chose Daniel and two others as administrators to supervise the high officers and protect the king’s interests.
English Standard Version
Chapter 6

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom 120 satraps, to be throughout the whole kingdom;
2
and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss.
New International Version
Chapter 6

It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,
2
with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss.
