To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust
him
from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for

this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him. Instead, they pushed him aside, and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.

They told Aaron: Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we don't know what's happened to him.

But our ancestors refused to listen to Moses. They rejected him and wanted to return to Egypt.

They told Aaron, ‘Make us some gods who can lead us, for we don’t know what has become of this Moses, who brought us out of Egypt.’
