Acts 10:32-36
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 10
32
Therefore send
some men
to Joppa and invite Simon, who is also called Peter, to come to you; he is staying at the house of Simon
the
tanner, by the sea.’
33
So I sent
men
to you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here present before God to hear everything that you have been commanded by the Lord.'
34
Opening his mouth, Peter said: 'I most certainly understand
now
that God is not one to show partiality,
35
but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.
36
The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)—
King James Version
Chapter 10
32
Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
33
Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 10
32
Therefore send someone to Joppa and invite Simon here, who is also named Peter. He is lodging in Simon the tanner’s house by the sea.’
33
So I immediately sent for you, and it was good of you to come. So now we are all in the presence of God to hear everything you have been commanded by the Lord."
34
Peter began to speak: "Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism,
35
but in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.
36
He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all.
New Living Translation
Chapter 10
32
Now send messengers to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter. He is staying in the home of Simon, a tanner who lives near the seashore.’
33
So I sent for you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here, waiting before God to hear the message the Lord has given you.'
34
Then Peter replied, 'I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.
35
In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.
36
This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel — that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
English Standard Version
Chapter 10
32
Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’
33
So I sent for you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here in the presence of God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord."
34
So Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I understand that God shows no partiality,
35
but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.
36
As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),
New International Version
Chapter 10
32
Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’
33
So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us."
34
Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism
35
but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.
36
You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
New King James Version
Chapter 10
32
Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon here, whose surname is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. When he comes, he will speak to you.’
33
So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God.”
34
Then Peter opened
his
mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.
