Chapter 10

14But Peter said, 'By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.' 15Again a voice came to him a second time, 'What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.' 16This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.

14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

14"No, Lord!" Peter said. "For I have never eaten anything impure and ritually unclean."
15Again, a second time, the voice said to him, "What God has made clean, do not call impure." 16This happened three times, and suddenly the object was taken up into heaven.

14No, Lord,' Peter declared. 'I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean. '
15But the voice spoke again: 'Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.' 16The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven.
