Romans 15:18-25
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 15
18For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, 19in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and all around as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20And in this way I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already known by name, so that I would not build on another person’s foundation;
22For this reason I have often been prevented from coming to you;
23but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you
24whenever I go to Spain—for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while—
25but now, I am going to Jerusalem, serving the saints.
King James Version
Chapter 15
18For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, 19Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: 21But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
22For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.
23But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;
24Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
25But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 15
18For I would not dare say anything except what Christ has accomplished through me by word and deed for the obedience of the Gentiles, 19by the power of miraculous signs and wonders, and by the power of God’s Spirit. As a result, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum. 20My aim is to preach the gospel where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation,
22That is why I have been prevented many times from coming to you.
23But now I no longer have any work to do in these regions, and I have strongly desired for many years to come to you
24whenever I travel to Spain. For I hope to see you when I pass through and to be assisted by you for my journey there, once I have first enjoyed your company for a while.
25Right now I am traveling to Jerusalem to serve the saints,
New Living Translation
Chapter 15
18Yet I dare not boast about anything except what Christ has done through me, bringing the Gentiles to God by my message and by the way I worked among them. 19They were convinced by the power of miraculous signs and wonders and by the power of God’s Spirit. In this way, I have fully presented the Good News of Christ from Jerusalem all the way to Illyricum.English Standard Version
Chapter 15
18For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience — by word and deed, 19by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God — so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ; 20and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else 's foundation, 21but as it is written, "Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand."
22This is the reason why I have so often been hindered from coming to you.
23But now, since I no longer have any room for work in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to come to you,
24I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain, and to be helped on my journey there by you, once I have enjoyed your company for a while.
25At present, however, I am going to Jerusalem bringing aid to the saints.
New International Version
Chapter 15
18I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. 20It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.
23But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to visit you,
24I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.
25Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the Lord’s people there.
