Philippians 2:5-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 2
5Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.King James Version
Chapter 2
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.Christian Standard Bible
6who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited.
7Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,
8he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death -- even to death on a cross.
New Living Translation
6Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
7Instead, he gave up his divine privileges ; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,
8he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
