Matthew 9:17-19
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
17
Nor do
people
put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.'
18
While He was saying these things to them, behold, a
synagogue
official came and bowed down before Him, and said, 'My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will become alive again.'
19
Jesus got up
from the table
and
began to
accompany him, along with His disciples.
King James Version
Chapter 9
17
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18
While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
19
And Jesus arose, and followed him, and
so did
his disciples.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 9
17
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."
18
As he was telling them these things, suddenly one of the leaders came and knelt down before him, saying, "My daughter just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."
19
So Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.
New Living Translation
Chapter 9
17
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.'
18
As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before him. 'My daughter has just died,' he said, 'but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.'
19
So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him.
English Standard Version
Chapter 9
17
Neither is new wine put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.”
18
While he was saying these things to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
19
And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples.
New International Version
Chapter 9
17
Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.'
18
While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, 'My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.'
19
Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
New King James Version

18
