Matthew 5:21-23
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 5
21
You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘YOU SHALL NOT MURDER,’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be answerable to the court.’
22
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be answerable to the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘ You good-for-nothing,’ shall be answerable to the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty
enough to go
into the fiery hell.
23
Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you,
King James Version
Chapter 5
21
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

"You have heard that it was said to our ancestors,
Do not murder
, and whoever murders will be subject to judgment.
22
But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Whoever insults his brother or sister, will be subject to the court. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to hellfire.
23
So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother or sister has something against you,

21
You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’
22
But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.
23
So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you,

21
"You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’
22
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.
23
So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’
22
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘
Raca
,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
23
"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,
