Chapter 26
59Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death. 60They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward, 61and said, 'This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’?' 62The high priest stood up and said to Him, 'Do You offer no answer for what these men are testifying against You?' 63But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, 'I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.'King James Version

59Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; 60But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, 61And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. 62And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 63But Jesus held his peace. 59The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so that they could put him to death, 60but they could not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward.
