1And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, 2Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. 3Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, 4And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him. 5But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.Christian Standard Bible

1When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples, 2As you know, Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.'
3At that same time the leading priests and elders were meeting at the residence of Caiaphas, the high priest,
4plotting how to capture Jesus secretly and kill him.
5But not during the Passover celebration,' they agreed, 'or the people may riot.'

1When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples, 2As you know, the Passover is two days away--and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.'
3Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
4and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
5But not during the festival,' they said, 'or there may be a riot among the people.'
