Chapter 26
6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the Leper, 7a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very expensive perfume, and she poured it on His head as He was reclining at the table. 8But the disciples were indignant when they saw this, and said, 'Why this waste? 9For this perfume could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.' 10But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, 'Why are you bothering the woman? For she has done a good deed for Me. 11For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me. 12For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial. 13Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her.'
14Then one of the twelve, named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15and said, 'What are you willing to give me to betray Him to you?' And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16And from then on he looked for a good opportunity to betray Jesus.
17Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?'
18And He said, 'Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, 'My time is near; I am keeping the Passover at your house with My disciples.'?’?'
19The disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.

6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. 8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? 9For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
14Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

She poured it on his head as he was reclining at the table. 8When the disciples saw it, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked. 9"This might have been sold for a great deal and given to the poor."
10Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a noble thing for me.
11You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.
12By pouring this perfume on my body, she has prepared me for burial.
13Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her."

6Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. 7While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.
8The disciples were indignant when they saw this. 'What a waste!' they said.
9It could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.'
10But Jesus, aware of this, replied, 'Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me?
11You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.
12She has poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial.
13I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.'

For she has done a beautiful thing to me. 11For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. 12In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial. 13Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her."

10But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.
11For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.
12For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial.
13Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”
