Malachi 1:11-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
11
For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name
shall be
great among the nations, and in every place frankincense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering
that is
pure; for My name
shall be
great among the nations,' says the
Lord
of armies.
12
But you are profaning it by your saying, ‘The table of the Lord is defiled, and as for its fruit, its food is to be despised.’
13
You also say, ‘See, how tiresome it is!’ And you view it as trivial,' says the
Lord
of armies, 'and you bring what was taken by robbery and
what is
lame or sick; so you bring the offering! Should I accept it from your hand?' says the
Lord
.
14
But cursed be the swindler who has a male in his flock and vows
it,
but sacrifices a blemished
animal
to the Lord, for I am a great King,' says the
Lord
of armies, 'and My name is feared among the nations.'
King James Version
Chapter 1
11
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the
Lord
of hosts.
12
But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the
Lord
is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
13
Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the
Lord
of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the
Lord
.
14
But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the
Lord
of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
11
"My name will be great among the nations, from the rising of the sun to its setting. Incense and pure offerings will be presented in my name in every place because my name will be great among the nations," says the
Lord
of Armies.
12
"But you are profaning it when you say: ‘The Lord’s table is defiled, and its product, its food, is contemptible.’
13
You also say: ‘Look, what a nuisance!’ And you scorn it," says the
Lord
of Armies. "You bring stolen, lame, or sick animals. You bring this as an offering! Am I to accept that from your hands?" asks the
Lord
.
14
"The deceiver is cursed who has an acceptable male in his flock and makes a vow but sacrifices a defective animal to the Lord. For I am a great King," says the
Lord
of Armies, "and my name will be feared among the nations.
New Living Translation
Chapter 1
11
But my name is honored by people of other nations from morning till night. All around the world they offer sweet incense and pure offerings in honor of my name. For my name is great among the nations,' says the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies.
12
But you dishonor my name with your actions. By bringing contemptible food, you are saying it’s all right to defile the Lord’s table.
13
You say, ‘It’s too hard to serve the
Lord
,’ and you turn up your noses at my commands,' says the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies. 'Think of it! Animals that are stolen and crippled and sick are being presented as offerings! Should I accept from you such offerings as these?' asks the
Lord
.
14
Cursed is the cheat who promises to give a fine ram from his flock but then sacrifices a defective one to the Lord. For I am a great king,' says the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, 'and my name is feared among the nations!

Chapter 1
11
For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the
Lord
of hosts.
12
But you profane it when you say that the Lord 's table is polluted, and its fruit, that is, its food may be despised.
13
But you say, ‘What a weariness this is,’ and you snort at it, says the
Lord
of hosts. You bring what has been taken by violence or is lame or sick, and this you bring as your offering! Shall I accept that from your hand? says the
Lord
.
14
Cursed be the cheat who has a male in his flock, and vows it, and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished. For I am a great King, says the
Lord
of hosts, and my name will be feared among the nations.
New International Version
Chapter 1
11
My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations," says the
Lord
Almighty.
12
"But you profane it by saying, ‘The Lord’s table is defiled,’ and, ‘Its food is contemptible.’
13
And you say, ‘What a burden!’ and you sniff at it contemptuously," says the
Lord
Almighty. "When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?" says the
Lord
.
14
"Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great king," says the
