Then the sons of Israel said to the
Lord
, 'We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please save us this day.'

So they removed the foreign gods from among them and served the
Lord
; and He could no longer endure the misery of Israel.

And the children of Israel said unto the
Lord
, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the
Lord
: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

But the Israelites said, "We have sinned. Deal with us as you see fit; only rescue us today!"

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the
Lord
, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

But the Israelites pleaded with the
Lord
and said, 'We have sinned. Punish us as you see fit, only rescue us today from our enemies.'

Then the Israelites put aside their foreign gods and served the
Lord
. And he was grieved by their misery.
