Hebrews 2:8-11
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 2
8
YOU HAVE PUT EVERYTHING IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET.'
For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
9
But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels,
namely,
Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
10
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.
11
For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one
Father;
for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers
and sisters,
King James Version
Chapter 2
8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

and subjected everything under his feet.
For in
subjecting everything
to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. As it is, we do not yet see
everything subjected
to him.
9
But we do see Jesus—
made lower than the angels for a short time
so that by God’s grace he might taste death for everyone—
crowned with glory and honor
because he suffered death.
10
For in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God—for whom and through whom all things exist—should make the source of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11
For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,
New Living Translation
Chapter 2
8
You gave them authority over all things.'
Now when it says 'all things,' it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority.
9
What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position 'a little lower than the angels'; and because he suffered death for us, he is now 'crowned with glory and honor.' Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.
10
God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.
11
So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.
English Standard Version
Chapter 2

putting everything in subjection under his feet."
Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.
9
But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
10
For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.
11
For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,

and put everything under their feet."
In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.
9
But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
10
In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.
11
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
New King James Version
