Genesis 9:4-9
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. 5 I certainly will require your lifeblood; from every animal I will require it. And from every person, from every man as his brother I will require the life of a person.King James Version
Chapter 9
4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 9
4 However, you must not eat meat with its lifeblood in it. 5 And I will require a penalty for your lifeblood; I will require it from any animal and from any human; if someone murders a fellow human, I will require that person's life.
6
Whoever sheds human blood, by humans his blood will be shed, for God made humans in his image.
7
But you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out over the earth and multiply on it."
New Living Translation
Chapter 9
4 But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.
5
'And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person's life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die.
6
If anyone takes a human life, that person's life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image.
7
Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth.'
English Standard Version

Chapter 9
4 But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
6
Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
7
As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.'
