Chapter 9

3Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I have given everything to you, as I gave the green plant. 4But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. 5I certainly will require your lifeblood; from every animal I will require it. And from every person, from every man as his brother I will require the life of a person.

3Every creature that lives and moves will be food for you; as I gave the green plants, I have given you everything. 4However, you must not eat meat with its lifeblood in it. 5And I will require a penalty for your lifeblood; I will require it from any animal and from any human; if someone murders a fellow human, I will require that person’s life.

Chapter 9

3I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. 4But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.
5And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die.
