Genesis 6:2-6
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
2
that the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
3
Then the
Lord
said, 'My Spirit will not remain with man forever, because he is also flesh; nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.'
4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who
were
of old, men of renown.
5
Then the
Lord
saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually.
6
So the
Lord
was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
King James Version
Chapter 6
2
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3
And the
Lord
said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5
And
God
saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6
And it repented the
Lord
that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

2
the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful, and they took any they chose as wives for themselves.
3
And the
Lord

4
The Nephilim were on the earth both in those days and afterward, when the sons of God came to the daughters of mankind, who bore children to them. They were the powerful men of old, the famous men.
5
When the
Lord
saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time,
6
the
Lord
regretted that he had made man on the earth, and he was deeply grieved.
New Living Translation
Chapter 6
2
The sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives.
3
Then the
Lord
said, 'My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.'
4
In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.
5
The
Lord
observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.
6
So the
Lord
was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.
