19
After this, Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave of the field of Machpelah facing Mamre (that is, Hebron), in the land of Canaan.
20
So the field and the cave that was in it were deeded over to Abraham for a burial site by the sons of Heth.

And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same
is
Hebron in the land of Canaan.

And the field, and the cave that
is
therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.

The field with its cave passed from the Hethites to Abraham as burial property.

Then Abraham buried his wife, Sarah, there in Canaan, in the cave of Machpelah, near Mamre (also called Hebron).

So the field and the cave were transferred from the Hittites to Abraham for use as a permanent burial place.
