8The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots. 9The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise. 10They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.Christian Standard Bible

8The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers. Your wise men were within you, Tyre; they were your captains. 9The elders of Gebal and its wise men were within you, repairing your leaks. 8Men of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen; your skilled men, Tyre, were aboard as your sailors.
9Veteran craftsmen of Byblos were on board as shipwrights to caulk your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors came alongside to trade for your wares.
10'Men of Persia, Lydia and Put served as soldiers in your army. They hung their shields and helmets on your walls, bringing you splendor.
