Ezekiel chapter 30

1The word of the LORD came to me: 2“Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: “Wail, ‘Alas for the day!’
3For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. 4A sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Cush, when the slain fall in Egypt, and her wealth is carried away, and her foundations are torn down. 5Cush, and Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Libya, and the people of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.
6“Thus says the LORD: Those who support Egypt shall fall, and her proud might shall come down; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall within her by the sword, declares the Lord GOD. 7And they shall be desolated in the midst of desolated countries, and their cities shall be in the midst of cities that are laid waste. 8Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken. 9“On that day messengers shall go out from me in ships to terrify the unsuspecting people of Cush, and anguish shall come upon them on the day of Egypt’s doom; for, behold, it comes!
10“Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land, and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. 12And I will dry up the Nile and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I am the LORD; I have spoken. 13“Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis; there shall no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will put fear in the land of Egypt.
14I will make Pathros a desolation and will set fire to Zoan and will execute judgments on Thebes. 15And I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the multitude of Thebes. 16And I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium shall be in great agony; Thebes shall be breached, and Memphis shall face enemies by day. 17The young men of On and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword, and the women shall go into captivity. 18At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark, when I break there the yoke bars of Egypt, and her proud might shall come to an end in her; she shall be covered by a cloud, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” 20In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me: 21“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and behold, it has not been bound up, to heal it by binding it with a bandage, so that it may become strong to wield the sword. 22Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, both the strong arm and the one that was broken, and I will make the sword fall from his hand. 23I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries. 24And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded. 25I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall. Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt. 26And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

2Son of man, prophesy and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ''Wail and say, 'Alas for that day!' 3For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near-- a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. 4A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down.
5Cush and Libya, Lydia and all Arabia, Kub and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.
6'This is what the LORD says: ''The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD. 7'They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities. 8Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.
9'On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt's doom, for it is sure to come.
10'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ''I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. 11He and his army--the most ruthless of nations-- will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.
12I will dry up the waters of the Nile and sell the land to an evil nation; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. I the LORD have spoken.
13'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ''I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egypt, and I will spread fear throughout the land. 14I will lay waste Upper Egypt, set fire to Zoan and inflict punishment on Thebes. 15I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and wipe out the hordes of Thebes. 16I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium will writhe in agony. Thebes will be taken by storm; Memphis will be in constant distress. 17The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will fall by the sword, and the cities themselves will go into captivity. 18Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt; there her proud strength will come to an end. She will be covered with clouds, and her villages will go into captivity. 19So I will inflict punishment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the LORD.''
20In the eleventh year, in the first month on the seventh day, the word of the LORD came to me: 21Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. It has not been bound up to be healed or put in a splint so that it may become strong enough to hold a sword. 22Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break both his arms, the good arm as well as the broken one, and make the sword fall from his hand. 23I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries. 24I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man. 25I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he brandishes it against Egypt. 26I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'

2Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Lord God says: 'Wail, ‘Woe for the day!’ 3For the day is near, Indeed, the day of the Lord is near; It will be a day of clouds, A time of doom for the nations.
4A sword will come upon Egypt, And there will be trembling in Cush; When the slain fall in Egypt, They will take away her wealth, And her foundations will be torn down.
5Cush, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya and the people of the land that is in league will fall with them by the sword.'
6‘This is what the Lord says: 'Indeed, those who support Egypt will fall And the pride of her power will come down; From Migdol to Syene They will fall within her by the sword,' Declares the Lord God. 7'They will be desolate In the midst of the desolated lands; And her cities will be In the midst of the devastated cities. 8And they will know that I am the Lord, When I set a fire in Egypt And all her helpers are broken.

10‘This is what the Lord God says: 'I will also make the hordes of Egypt cease By the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11He and his people with him, The most ruthless of the nations, Will be brought in to destroy the land; And they will draw their swords against Egypt And fill the land with the slain.
12Moreover, I will make the Nile canals dry And sell the land into the hands of evil men. And I will make the land desolate And all that is in it, By the hand of strangers; I the Lord have spoken.'
13‘This is what the Lord God says: 'I will also destroy the idols And make the images cease from Memphis. And there will no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt; And I will put fear in the land of Egypt.
14I will make Pathros desolate, Set a fire in Zoan And execute judgments on Thebes. 15I will pour out My wrath on Sin, The stronghold of Egypt; I will also eliminate the hordes of Thebes. 16I will set a fire in Egypt; Sin will writhe in anguish, Thebes will be breached And Memphis will have distresses daily. 17The young men of On and of Pi-beseth Will fall by the sword, And the women will go into captivity. 18In Tehaphnehes the day will be dark When I break there the yoke bars of Egypt. Then the pride of her power will cease in her; A cloud will cover her, And her daughters will go into captivity. 19So I will execute judgments on Egypt, And they will know that I am the Lord.'?’?'
20In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 21Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, behold, it has not been bound up for healing or wrapped with a bandage, so that it may be strong to wield the sword. 22Therefore this is what the Lord God says: ‘Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and I will break his arms, both the strong and the broken; and I will make the sword fall from his hand. 23And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands. 24For I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand; and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, so that he will groan before him with the groans of a wounded man. 25So I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fail. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he reaches out with it against the land of Egypt. 26When I scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands, then they will know that I am the Lord.’?'

2"Son of man, prophesy and say, 'This is what the Lord God says: Wail, "Woe because of that day! " 3For a day is near; a day belonging to the Lord is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. 4A sword will come against Egypt, and there will be anguish in Cush when the slain fall in Egypt, and its wealth is taken away, and its foundations are demolished. 5Cush, Put, and Lud, and all the various foreign troops, plus Libya and the men of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with them.
6This is what the Lord says: Those who support Egypt will fall, and its proud strength will collapse. From Migdol to Syene they will fall within it by the sword. This is the declaration of the Lord God. 7They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities. 8They will know that I am the Lord when I set fire to Egypt and all its allies are shattered.
9On that day, messengers will go out from me in ships to terrify confident Cush. Anguish will come over them on the day of Egypt's doom. For indeed it is coming.
10" 'This is what the Lord God says: I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. 11He along with his people, ruthless men from the nations, will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. 12I will make the streams dry and sell the land to evil men. I will bring desolation on the land and everything in it by the hands of foreigners. I, the Lord, have spoken.
13" 'This is what the Lord God says: I will destroy the worthless idols and put an end to the false gods in Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt. And I will instill fear in that land. 14I will make Pathros desolate, set fire to Zoan, and execute judgments on Thebes. 15I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and will wipe out the hordes of Thebes. 16I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium will writhe in anguish, Thebes will be breached, and Memphis will face foes in broad daylight. 17The young men of On and Pi-beseth will fall by the sword, and those cities will go into captivity. 18The day will be dark in Tehaphnehes, when I break the yoke of Egypt there and its proud strength comes to an end in the city. A cloud will cover Tehaphnehes, and its surrounding villages will go into captivity. 19So I will execute judgments against Egypt, and they will know that I am the Lord.' "
20In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: 21"Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Look, it has not been bandaged--no medicine has been applied and no splint put on to bandage it so that it can grow strong enough to handle a sword. 22Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: Look! I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break his arms, both the strong one and the one already broken, and will make the sword fall from his hand. 23I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them among the countries. 24I will strengthen the arms of Babylon's king and place my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him as a mortally wounded man. 25I will strengthen the arms of Babylon's king, but Pharaoh's arms will fall. They will know that I am the Lord when I place my sword in the hand of Babylon's king and he wields it against the land of Egypt. 26When I disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them among the countries, they will know that I am the Lord."

1This is another message that came to me from the Lord:
2Son of man, prophesy and give this message from the Sovereign Lord: 'Weep and wail for that day, 3for the terrible day is almost here — the day of the Lord! It is a day of clouds and gloom, a day of despair for the nations. 4A sword will come against Egypt, and those who are slaughtered will cover the ground. Its wealth will be carried away and its foundations destroyed. The land of Ethiopia will be ravished. 5Ethiopia, Libya, Lydia, all Arabia, and all their other allies will be destroyed in that war.
6'For this is what the Lord says: All of Egypt’s allies will fall, and the pride of her power will end. From Migdol to Aswan they will be slaughtered by the sword, says the Sovereign Lord. 7Egypt will be desolate, surrounded by desolate nations, and its cities will be in ruins, surrounded by other ruined cities. 8And the people of Egypt will know that I am the Lord when I have set Egypt on fire and destroyed all their allies. 9At that time I will send swift messengers in ships to terrify the complacent Ethiopians. Great panic will come upon them on that day of Egypt’s certain destruction. Watch for it! It is sure to come!
10'For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: By the power of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, I will destroy the hordes of Egypt. 11He and his armies — the most ruthless of all — will be sent to demolish the land. They will make war against Egypt until slaughtered Egyptians cover the ground. 12I will dry up the Nile River and sell the land to wicked men. I will destroy the land of Egypt and everything in it by the hands of foreigners. I, the Lord, have spoken!
13'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will smash the idols of Egypt and the images at Memphis. There will be no rulers left in Egypt; terror will sweep the land. 14I will destroy southern Egypt, set fire to Zoan, and bring judgment against Thebes. 15I will pour out my fury on Pelusium, the strongest fortress of Egypt, and I will stamp out the hordes of Thebes. 16Yes, I will set fire to all Egypt! Pelusium will be racked with pain; Thebes will be torn apart; Memphis will live in constant terror. 17The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will die in battle, and the women will be taken away as slaves. 18When I come to break the proud strength of Egypt, it will be a dark day for Tahpanhes, too. A dark cloud will cover Tahpanhes, and its daughters will be led away as captives. 19And so I will greatly punish Egypt, and they will know that I am the Lord.'
20On April 29, during the eleventh year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, this message came to me from the Lord: 21Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. His arm has not been put in a cast so that it may heal. Neither has it been bound up with a splint to make it strong enough to hold a sword. 22Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am the enemy of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt! I will break both of his arms — the good arm along with the broken one — and I will make his sword clatter to the ground. 23I will scatter the Egyptians to many lands throughout the world. 24I will strengthen the arms of Babylon’s king and put my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he will lie there mortally wounded, groaning in pain. 25I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, while the arms of Pharaoh fall useless to his sides. And when I put my sword in the hand of Babylon’s king and he brings it against the land of Egypt, Egypt will know that I am the Lord. 26I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, dispersing them throughout the earth. 20And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 21Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. 22Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. 23And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. 24And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man. 25But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt. 26And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
