Daniel 3:8-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
8
For this reason at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and brought charges against the Jews.
9
They began to speak and said to Nebuchadnezzar the king: 'O king, live forever!
10
You, O king, have made a decree that every person who hears the sound of the horn, flute, lyre, trigon, psaltery, and bagpipe, and all kinds of musical instruments, is to fall down and worship the golden statue.
11
But whoever does not fall down and worship shall be thrown into the middle of a furnace of blazing fire.
12
There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the administration of the province of Babylon,
namely
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. These men, O king, have disregarded you; they do not serve your gods, nor do they worship the golden statue which you have set up.'
King James Version
Chapter 3
8
Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
9
They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
10
Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
11
And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
12
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 3
8
Some Chaldeans took this occasion to come forward and maliciously accuse the Jews.
9
They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, "May the king live forever.
10
You as king have issued a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music must fall down and worship the gold statue.
11
Whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire.
12
There are some Jews you have appointed to manage the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men have ignored you, the king; they do not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up."
New Living Translation
Chapter 3
8
But some of the astrologers went to the king and informed on the Jews.
9
They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, 'Long live the king!
10
You issued a decree requiring all the people to bow down and worship the gold statue when they hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and other musical instruments.
11
That decree also states that those who refuse to obey must be thrown into a blazing furnace.
12
But there are some Jews — Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego — whom you have put in charge of the province of Babylon. They pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They refuse to serve your gods and do not worship the gold statue you have set up.'
English Standard Version

12
But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up."

9
They spoke and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “O king, live forever!
10
You, O king, have made a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre,

12
There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego; these men, O king, have not paid due regard to you. They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up.”
