Acts 24:20-22
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 24
20
Or
else
have these men themselves declare what violation they discovered when I stood before the Council,
21
other than in regard to this one declaration which I shouted while standing among them, ‘For the resurrection of the dead I am on trial before you today!’?'
22
But Felix, having quite accurate knowledge about the Way, adjourned them, saying, 'When Lysias the commander comes down, I will decide your case.'
King James Version
Chapter 24
20
Or else let these same
here
say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
21
Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
22
And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of
that
way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 24
20
Or let these men here state what wrongdoing they found in me when I stood before the Sanhedrin,
21
other than this one statement I shouted while standing among them, 'Today I am on trial before you concerning the resurrection of the dead.' "
22
Since Felix was well informed about the Way, he adjourned the hearing, saying, "When Lysias the commander comes down, I will decide your case."
New Living Translation
Chapter 24
20
Ask these men here what crime the Jewish high council found me guilty of,
21
except for the one time I shouted out, ‘I am on trial before you today because I believe in the resurrection of the dead!’'
22
At that point Felix, who was quite familiar with the Way, adjourned the hearing and said, 'Wait until Lysias, the garrison commander, arrives. Then I will decide the case.'
English Standard Version
Chapter 24
20
Or else let these men themselves say what wrongdoing they found when I stood before the council,
21
other than this one thing that I cried out while standing among them: ‘It is with respect to the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you this day.’”
22
But Felix, having a rather accurate knowledge of the Way, put them off, saying, “When Lysias the tribune comes down, I will decide your case.”
New International Version
Chapter 24
20
Or these who are here should state what crime they found in me when I stood before the Sanhedrin--
21
unless it was this one thing I shouted as I stood in their presence: 'It is concerning the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you today.''
22
Then Felix, who was well acquainted with the Way, adjourned the proceedings. 'When Lysias the commander comes,' he said, 'I will decide your case.'
New King James Version
Chapter 24
20
Or else let those who are
here
themselves say if they found any wrongdoing in me while I stood before the council,
21
unless
it is
for this one statement which I cried out, standing among them, ‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you this day.’ ”
22
But when Felix heard these things, having more accurate knowledge of
the
Way, he adjourned the proceedings and said, “When Lysias the commander comes down, I will make a decision on your case.”
