Acts 20:8-11
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 20
8
There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were gathered together.
9
And there was a young man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as Paul kept on talking,
Eutychus
was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor, and was picked up dead.
10
But Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, 'Do not be troubled, for he is still alive.'
11
When
Paul
had gone
back
up and had broken the bread and eaten, he talked with them a long while until daybreak, and then left.
King James Version
Chapter 20
8
And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
9
And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10
And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11
When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 20
8
There were many lamps in the room upstairs where we were assembled,
9
and a young man named Eutychus was sitting on a window sill and sank into a deep sleep as Paul kept on talking. When he was overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was picked up dead.
10
But Paul went down, bent over him, embraced him, and said, "Don’t be alarmed, because he’s alive."
11
After going upstairs, breaking the bread, and eating, Paul talked a long time until dawn. Then he left.
New Living Translation
Chapter 20
8
The upstairs room where we met was lighted with many flickering lamps.
9
As Paul spoke on and on, a young man named Eutychus, sitting on the windowsill, became very drowsy. Finally, he fell sound asleep and dropped three stories to his death below.
10
Paul went down, bent over him, and took him into his arms. 'Don’t worry,' he said, 'he’s alive!'
11
Then they all went back upstairs, shared in the Lord’s Supper, and ate together. Paul continued talking to them until dawn, and then he left.
English Standard Version

But Paul went down and bent over him, and taking him in his arms, said, "Do not be alarmed, for his life is in him."
11
And when Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long while, until daybreak, and so departed.

11
Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left.
