2 Kings 12:11-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
11
And they handed the money which was assessed over to those who did the work, who had the oversight of the house of the
Lord
; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the house of the
Lord
;
12
and to the masons and the stonecutters, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the damage to the house of the
Lord
, and for everything that was laid out for the house to repair it.
13
However there were not made for the house of the
Lord
silver cups, shears, bowls, trumpets, any receptacles of gold, or receptacles of silver from the money which was brought into the house of the
Lord
;
14
for they gave that to those who did the work, and with it they repaired the house of the
Lord
.
King James Version
Chapter 12
11
And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the
Lord
: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the
Lord
,
12
And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the
Lord
, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
13
Howbeit there were not made for the house of the
Lord
bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the
Lord
:
14
But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the
Lord
.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 12
11
Then they would give the weighed silver to those doing the work—those who oversaw the
Lord
’s temple. They in turn would pay it out to those working on the
Lord
’s temple—the carpenters, the builders,
12
the masons, and the stonecutters—and would use it to buy timber and quarried stone to repair the damage to the
Lord
’s temple and for all expenses for temple repairs.
13
However, no silver bowls, wick trimmers, sprinkling basins, trumpets, or any articles of gold or silver were made for the
Lord
’s temple from the contributions brought to the
Lord
’s temple.
14
Instead, it was given to those doing the work, and they repaired the
Lord
’s temple with it.
New Living Translation
Chapter 12
11
Then they gave the money to the construction supervisors, who used it to pay the people working on the
Lord
’s Temple — the carpenters, the builders,
12
the masons, and the stonecutters. They also used the money to buy the timber and the finished stone needed for repairing the
Lord
’s Temple, and they paid any other expenses related to the Temple’s restoration.
13
The money brought to the Temple was not used for making silver bowls, lamp snuffers, basins, trumpets, or other articles of gold or silver for the Temple of the
Lord
.
14
It was paid to the workmen, who used it for the Temple repairs.
English Standard Version
Chapter 12
11
Then they would give the money that was weighed out into the hands of the workmen who had the oversight of the house of the
Lord
. And they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the house of the
Lord
,
12
and to the masons and the stonecutters, as well as to buy timber and quarried stone for making repairs on the house of the
Lord
, and for any outlay for the repairs of the house.
13
But there were not made for the house of the
Lord
basins of silver, snuffers, bowls, trumpets, or any vessels of gold, or of silver, from the money that was brought into the house of the
Lord
,
14
for that was given to the workmen who were repairing the house of the
Lord
with it.
New International Version
Chapter 12
11
When the amount had been determined, they gave the money to the men appointed to supervise the work on the temple. With it they paid those who worked on the temple of the
Lord
—the carpenters and builders,
12
the masons and stonecutters. They purchased timber and blocks of dressed stone for the repair of the temple of the
Lord
, and met all the other expenses of restoring the temple.
13
The money brought into the temple was not spent for making silver basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, trumpets or any other articles of gold or silver for the temple of the
Lord
;
14
it was paid to the workers, who used it to repair the temple.
New King James Version
Chapter 12
11
Then they gave the money, which had been apportioned, into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of the house of the
Lord
; and they paid it out to the carpenters and builders who worked on the house of the
Lord
,
12
and to masons and stonecutters, and for buying timber and hewn stone, to repair the damage of the house of the
Lord
, and for all that was paid out to repair the temple.
13
However there were not made for the house of the
Lord
basins of silver, trimmers, sprinkling-bowls, trumpets, any articles of gold or articles of silver, from the money brought into the house of the
Lord
.
14
But they gave that to the workmen, and they repaired the house of the
Lord
with it.
