Chapter 2

9He watches over the feet of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; For not by might shall a person prevail.
10Those who contend with the Lord will be terrified; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed.'
11Then Elkanah went to his home at Ramah. But the boy continued to attend to the service of the Lord before Eli the priest.
12Now the sons of Eli were useless men; they did not know the Lord.

9He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. 10The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
11And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest. 12Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.

11Then Elkanah returned home to Ramah without Samuel. And the boy served the Lord by assisting Eli the priest.
