Chapter 2

34And this will be the sign to you which will come in regard to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas: on the same day both of them will die. 35But I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and My soul; and I will build him an enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed always.

Chapter 2

34This will be the sign that will come to you concerning your two sons Hophni and Phinehas: both of them will die on the same day.
35"‘Then I will raise up a faithful priest for myself. He will do whatever is in my heart and mind. I will establish a lasting dynasty for him, and he will walk before my anointed one for all time.

34And to prove that what I have said will come true, I will cause your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, to die on the same day!
35Then I will raise up a faithful priest who will serve me and do what I desire. I will establish his family, and they will be priests to my anointed kings forever.
