1 Kings 3:13-20
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
13I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you all your days. 14And if you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked, then I will prolong your days.'
16Then two women who were prostitutes came to the king and stood before him.
17The one woman said, 'Pardon me, my lord: this woman and I live in the same house; and I gave birth to a child while she was in the house.
18And it happened on the third day after I gave birth, that this woman also gave birth to a child, and we were together. There was no stranger with us in the house, only the two of us in the house.
19Then this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him.
20So she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from beside me while your servant was asleep, and she laid him at her breast, and laid her dead son at my breast.

Chapter 3
13And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. 14And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. 15And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
16Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
17And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
18And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
19And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
20And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

Chapter 3
13In addition, I will give you what you did not ask for: both riches and honor, so that no king will be your equal during your entire life. 14If you walk in my ways and keep my statutes and commands just as your father David did, I will give you a long life."
16Then two women who were prostitutes came to the king and stood before him.
17One woman said, "Please, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house, and I had a baby while she was in the house.
18On the third day after I gave birth, she also had a baby and we were alone. No one else was with us in the house; just the two of us were there.
19During the night this woman's son died because she lay on him.
20She got up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side while your servant was asleep. She laid him in her arms, and she put her dead son in my arms.

Chapter 3
13And I will also give you what you did not ask for — riches and fame! No other king in all the world will be compared to you for the rest of your life! 14And if you follow me and obey my decrees and my commands as your father, David, did, I will give you a long life.'
16Some time later two prostitutes came to the king to have an argument settled.
17Please, my lord,' one of them began, 'this woman and I live in the same house. I gave birth to a baby while she was with me in the house.
18Three days later this woman also had a baby. We were alone; there were only two of us in the house.

13Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for--both wealth and honor--so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 14And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.'
16Now two prostitutes came to the king and stood before him.
