Chapter 2
43Why then have you not kept the oath of the Lord, and the command which I imposed on you?' 44The king also said to Shimei, 'You yourself know all the evil that you acknowledge in your heart, which you did to my father David; therefore the Lord will return your evil on your own head. 45But King Solomon will be blessed, and the throne of David will be established before the Lord forever.'King James Version

43Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged thee with? 44The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head; 45And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.Christian Standard Bible

43So why have you not kept the Lord's oath and the command that I gave you? " 44The king also said, "You yourself know all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore, the Lord has brought back your evil on your head, 45but King Solomon will be blessed, and David's throne will remain established before the Lord forever."New Living Translation
44The king also said to Shimei, 'You certainly remember all the wicked things you did to my father, David. May the Lord now bring that evil on your own head.
45But may I, King Solomon, receive the Lord’s blessings, and may one of David’s descendants always sit on this throne in the presence of the Lord.'
