Shimei then said to the king, 'The word is good. Just as my lord the king has spoken, so your servant shall do.' So Shimei lived in Jerusalem for many days.
39
But it came about at the end of three years, that two of Shimei’s servants ran away to Achish son of Maacah, king of Gath. And
others
told Shimei, saying, 'Behold, your servants are in Gath.'

And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath.

Shimei said to the king, "The sentence is fair; your servant will do as my lord the king has spoken." And Shimei lived in Jerusalem for a long time.

But then, at the end of three years, two of Shimei’s slaves ran away to Achish son of Maacah, king of Gath. Shimei was informed, "Look, your slaves are in Gath."
