1 John 2:9-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 2
9
The one who says that he is in the Light and
yet
hates his brother
or sister
is in the darkness until now.
10
The one who loves his brother
and sister
remains in the Light, and there is nothing in him to cause stumbling.
11
But the one who hates his brother
or sister
is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
12
I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you on account of His name.
King James Version
Chapter 2
9
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
Christian Standard Bible

on account of his name.

I am writing to you who are God’s children
because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus.
