What does Exodus 19:25 mean?
Israel camped at the base of Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:1–2). Moses obeyed God's call onto the mountain to receive instructions from the Lord (Exodus 19:3, 20). The people obeyed instructions to prepare themselves (Exodus 19:10–11, 14–15). But they were forbidden from coming onto the mountain itself (Exodus 19:12–13, 23). God's incredible holiness was displayed through spectacular natural signs (Exodus 19:16–18).Moses has followed his designated role as God's spokesman (Exodus 3:10; 4:14–16). What the Lord tells Moses, he passes along to the people. His next message will include the most famous and fundamental of God's laws for the nation of Israel: the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1–21).
