Ruth 4:13-18
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
13
So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife, and he had relations with her. And the
Lord
enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.
14
Then the women said to Naomi, 'Blessed is the
Lord
who has not left you without a redeemer today, and may his name become famous in Israel.
15
May he also be to you one who restores life and sustains your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.'
16
Then Naomi took the child and laid him in her lap, and became his nurse.
17
And the neighbor women gave him a name, saying, 'A son has been born to Naomi!' So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Chapter 4
13
So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the
Lord
gave her conception, and she bare a son.
14
And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the
Lord
, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
15
And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
16
And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
17
And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

14
The women said to Naomi, "Blessed be the
Lord
, who has not left you without a family redeemer today. May his name become well known in Israel.
15
He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. Indeed, your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has given birth to him."
16
Naomi took the child, placed him on her lap, and became his nanny.
17
The neighbor women said, "A son has been born to Naomi," and they named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Chapter 4
13
So Boaz took Ruth into his home, and she became his wife. When he slept with her, the
Lord
enabled her to become pregnant, and she gave birth to a son.
14
Then the women of the town said to Naomi, 'Praise the
Lord
, who has now provided a redeemer for your family! May this child be famous in Israel.
15
May he restore your youth and care for you in your old age. For he is the son of your daughter-in-law who loves you and has been better to you than seven sons!'
16
Naomi took the baby and cuddled him to her breast. And she cared for him as if he were her own.
17
The neighbor women said, 'Now at last Naomi has a son again!' And they named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse and the grandfather of David.

This is the genealogical record of their ancestor Perez:
