Chapter 13
15And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause all who do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16And he causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.King James Version

15It was permitted to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast could both speak and cause whoever would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16And it makes everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark: the beast’s name or the number of its name.New Living Translation
16He required everyone — small and great, rich and poor, free and slave — to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead.
17And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.
18Wisdom is needed here. Let the one with understanding solve the meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.
