Proverbs 30:32-33
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 30
32
If you have been foolish in exalting yourself,
Or if you have plotted
evil, put your
hand on your mouth.
33
For the churning of milk produces butter,
And pressing the nose produces blood;
So the churning of anger produces strife.
King James Version
Chapter 30
32
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil,
lay
thine hand upon thy mouth.
33
Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 30
32
If you have been foolish by exalting yourself or if you've been scheming, put your hand over your mouth.
33
For the churning of milk produces butter, and twisting a nose draws blood, and stirring up anger produces strife.
New Living Translation
Chapter 30
32
If you have been a fool by being proud or plotting evil,
cover your mouth in shame.
33
As the beating of cream yields butter
and striking the nose causes bleeding,
so stirring up anger causes quarrels.
English Standard Version
Chapter 30
32
If you have been foolish, exalting yourself, or if you have been devising evil, put your hand on your mouth.
33
For pressing milk produces curds, pressing the nose produces blood, and pressing anger produces strife.
New International Version
Chapter 30
32
If you play the fool and exalt yourself, or if you plan evil, clap your hand over your mouth!
33
For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.'
New King James Version
Chapter 30
32
If you have been foolish in exalting yourself,
Or if you have devised evil,
put your
hand on
your
mouth.
33
For
as
the churning of milk produces butter,
And wringing the nose produces blood,
So the forcing of wrath produces strife.
